How does UV invisible ink work

   UV invisible ink is a type of ink that is transparent and virtually invisible under normal light conditions but glows brightly (fluoresces) when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.

It's also commonly known as black light ink, fluorescent ink, or security ink.

How It Works

The science behind it is called fluorescence:

1. Invisible State: The ink's pigments absorb light at wavelengths that the human eye cannot see (ultraviolet light).

2. Activation by UV Light: When a UV light source (a "black light") shines on the ink, the pigments absorb the high-energy UV photons.

3. Emission of Visible Light: This energy excites the molecules in the ink, which then almost instantly release the energy as lower-energy, longer-wavelength photons that fall within the visible light spectrum. This is the glow you see.

4. Return to Invisible: Once the UV light source is removed, the glow quickly fades and the ink becomes invisible again.

• Transparency: Dries clear and is undetectable under normal lighting.

• Fluorescence: Emits a bright, visible glow under UV-A black light (typically 365-395 nm wavelength).
